Go here, eat lunch. Or better yet, if you're in a hurry, call ahead and save the wait. They'll have your sandwich ready and piping hot in 10 minutes. What a deal.
I'm having a grilled roast beef with sauteed green peppers, onions and provolone cheese on sourdough bread. Just the right size for a light lunch. Includes a nice crisp pickle spear and a cookie. It's a panini-style "grill" so you get nice grill marks and less grease than a grilled sandwich made on a grilltop, IMO.
My friend is enjoying a Reuben (in honor of St. Patrick's Day) and being a connoisseur of all things food, she deems it "awesome." She also got a loaf of soda bread, but I've yet to be offered a piece. I will update if she does offer me a slice.
Stella's is also the home of a variety of fantastic baked goods. Make it a breakfast or lunch stop on the way to work. It's well worth the visit. Owners Max and Coralia Harn have owned and operated Stella's for over 20 years. Their dedication to good food shows.
In reading the history of Stella's, it's worth noting that one owner's son, Brian Harn, apprenticed under Sarabeth Levine, she of Sarabeth's in New York, and is a graduate of the French Culinary Institute. Can't go wrong with a pedigree like that.
Check out the link below for more of Stella's and the link below that for Sarabeth's in New York. And enjoy!
