I Like Bethenny Frankel

Not everyone likes Bethenny Frankel. I do...she's ambitious, savvy, dresses wonderfully. And she's insecure and flawed and searching for answers...all the things the rest of us are and she isn't afraid to show us that every week.

Bethenny is a polarizing individual...it seems she's either loved or hated. Judgments get made on sound bites and snippets of her live that are condensed and edited into an hour a week. It's hardly fair to judge someone so harshly on just an hour of their life. Plus, it is entertainment so it's edited for maximum value. Makes sense to me.

But I do like what I see of Bethenny. I adore her baby (that's saying a lot since I've never adored any baby except my own.) I'm glad Bravo decided she was better alone than in the crowd of housewives. Bravo to Bravo for recognizing a diamond in the rough and plucking her out of the psycho-drama that is the vast majority of the Housewives of...franchise.

And on the six degrees of separation tack, I share one degree of separation of sorts with Bethenny Frankel. She has been (or was...eHow is constantly undergoing changes) the Food Expert on the eHow How To site. I also write for eHow, under Carol McKenzie and as a Demand Media contributor under the pen name of Helen Sterling.

For some reason, it pleases me no end that we're on the same site. Technically, we're both on Bravo as I commented on her blog and we're actually on the Interwebz together. But it's my one tiny claim to fame.
